One more sleep left and my brother is going to be married to the girl of his life. Honestly I am not ready to have a sister in our family. Being the only daughter in the family, I am always like a queen, who is incharge of everything related to creative decision making and even being the fashion consultant in the family.
We have known Syan for more than five years. Surprisingly me and her get along well since the beginning (I was jealous of my brother's previous girlfriends because I thought my parents gave them more attention). This girl is strong, tough, responsible, kind and most importantly, she is an awesome singer (my family can't sing). Well, because of that, I am quite reluctant to sing karaoke with Syan haha!
Two months before I am back to Kuantan to photograph their big day, I've engaged Whims Kuantan, the most creative event company in Kuantan to set up a surprise bridal shower with high tea by the beach for us.
Ok, so this was how the surprise bridal shower was planned: my cousin Wei Ling and Syan are wedding singers. Wei Ling told Syan that there was a engagement party by the beach and the couple was hiring them to sing at the engagement party.
Me and my other cousin, Cloey drove to the location before Syan and Wei Ling arrived. The GPS couldn't find the beach and we were late for an hour. When we finally found the beach and was searching for the exact location, we realised Wei Ling's car was just in front of us. Wei Ling turned left and tried to prolong the traveling time, Cloey and I turned to the right and thank God we finally found the tent that was set up by the beach. It was at the end of the road and I loved how private the location was.
Then we got out of the car and planned to hide behind the tent, suddenly Wei Ling's car passed by behind of us. I was shocked, I screamed , ran to the tent and still looked back Wei Ling's car to see if Syan saw us. Yes, she saw us, she saw how horrible I looked in my shocking face and my ugly gesture trying hard to run on sand.... SURPRISE!!! Yup, it was a surprise for myself...
It was fun! It was beautiful how everything matched up! Happy day! I love these girls dearly. We laughed we chat we climbed tree we ran we kicked the sand. And because Wei Ling cheated Syan that they were supposed to sing for an engagement party, she brought her guitar along. What a pleasant evening to listen to them sang by the beach. Thanks to my best friends in Melbourne for lending me their lace dresses, so that I could have enough beautiful dresses to match this beautiful theme.
The situation started to get a little bit imtimidating when some boys played at the beach, took notice of us and they watched us for 20 minutes. After the boys have went back to the village, every 10 minutes there were guys driving pass with their motorbikes, stopped and watched us from 50 meter away. I felt very uneasy because there were only four of us with no male friends among us. I shouldn't be feeling intimidating by the villagers but because I am not familiar with the area, I was afraid that they might harm us. Thank God nothing happened and we were safe and sound.
Dear Syan, I hope you enjoyed the surprise that I've plan for you. We welcome you to our family with a open heart and I love it when you call me "jie" (older sister).
